These are our house rules and yoga etiquette. For those of you who are more visually and have a sense of humor..we did this crazy video trying to imitate the Delta Safety video:
To ensure that are carpets stay hygienically clean:
Stand on your towel AT ALL TIMES
Make sure your towels cover the length of your mat.
Please: clean feet only.
Bring enough towels so you don't leave sweat spots where you just practiced.
Good studio etiquette is appreciated.
Yoga is an eastern discipline. In a discipline we accept and adapt to our environment, not expecting the environment to accommodate to us.
Please review the list:
- When you walk in the studio let go of any expectation, be open to the teacher's guidance. Follow the instructions given by your teacher.
- Learn to listen for this is the fundamental principle of our studio.
- Wait to have water until the third posture (the teacher will let you know when this is). Please drink water only in between sets.
- DO NOT leave during class unless it is an emergency (do get permission from the teacher first).
- When you need to sit down/take a break, please sit through the whole set.
- Let your teachers know of any medical conditions. PLEASE don't set up in the front row if you modify postures. Ask your teacher if there is no room in the back for you to set up.
- If you come in late, don't set up in the front. Again, ask your teacher where to set up.
- New students please set up in the back row (even if you have done Hot Yoga in other studios).
- Use common sense and be mindful of others. If you set up in the front make sure that the person behind you can see the mirror.
- When the class is over leave the room quietly once the teacher has left the room.
- Don't hesitate to ask questions before and after class. During class be as quiet as you can. It is part of our discipline; do not talk during class.
- No cell phones, wallets, keys in the yoga room.
- Please do not wear perfumes since the heat intensify any smell.
- It's a good idea to take a shower before class.
Front Row Etiquette
- BE MINDFUL: If you are setting up in the front row, look back, make sure that you are not right in front of someone, obstructing their view.
- BE COMMITTED: If you are going to need to sit down, don't set up in the front.
- BE AWARE: If you can't be still, don't set up in the front.
- BE PRESENT: Do not start or change before the teacher instructs you to do so.
- BE HUMBLE: Do not change or modify any pose.
